Dog-friendly Beech How Cottage is on the edge of Lake Windermere, just two miles from Bowness. Stunning views can be appreciated from almost every room.
Up to four well-behaved dogs are welcome, and there is ample off-road parking.
Inside
The sitting room is upstairs, allowing guests to fully appreciate the views over the lake. With plenty of seating, a Freeview television and a DVD player, this is a great place to relax.
The downstairs kitchen diner is well-equipped, with oven, microwave, fridge freezer and dishwasher. The dining table comfortably seats six people, and there is also a breakfast bar for two. There is a washing machine available in the hallway.
There are three bedrooms: one double downstairs and a double and a twin upstairs. The ground-floor bedroom is next to the bathroom on the same floor, which has a bath with shower over, and WC. This setup would particularly suit guests with limited mobility. Bed linen and towels are included in the rent.
Free WiFi is available for guest use, and there is also a payphone for guests’ convenience.
Outside
The cottage has a large garden with a steep woodland pathway that runs down to the lake shore. There is also a balcony area where you can sit and relax, taking in the spectacular views, after a day of exploring the area with your dogs.
Please note that due to the access to deep water, children and dogs must be supervised at all times.
Location and surrounding area
The village of Bowness, just two miles away, has plenty of pubs, restaurants and shops. Fell Foot Park is also close by, with many activities on offer, including kayaking, boating, paddle-boarding, and the popular 5k parkrun.
A steam railway, an aquarium and a motor museum are just a short drive away, as is the World of Beatrix Potter attraction. Also close by are the historic villages of Grasmere, Ambleside and Troutbeck.
