Bibby Lot is a dog-friendly, mid-terrace cottage, nestled in a courtyard of Victorian farm buildings. It is situated on the 5000-acre Graythwaite Estate, amid lake, forest, meadow and woodland landscapes.
Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome, and there is ample off-road parking.
Inside
The interior is extremely well-presented, with furnishing and décor finished to a high standard. With electric central heating and open fire, the cottage is warm and cosy no matter what the season.
The sitting room has plenty of comfy seating, arranged around an open fire.
The kitchen diner is well-equipped, with oven, microwave, fridge freezer and dishwasher. There is also shared use of a washing machine available by prior arrangement, and shared use of a tumble dryer in the table tennis room.
There are three bedrooms: one double, one twin and one room containing adult bunk beds. The bathroom has a bath with shower over, basin and WC. There is also a ground-floor cloakroom with basin and WC. Bed linen and towels are included in the rent.
Outside
Relax on the shared patio with furniture, the perfect spot after a day of exploring the area with your dogs.
Location and surrounding area
Guests can enjoy shared use of the estate grounds and facilities, including an indoor swimming pool, table tennis, children’s play area, and a fitness suite (at extra cost). There is also a 2.5-acre trout fishing lake, for which you will need a licence if you would like to fish.
There are numerous walks around the estate, where you can take in forests and woodland, and in the summer, feel free to explore the well-tended gardens.
Grizedale Forest is nearby, where you can hire mountain bikes or experience a treetop Go Ape adventure. You can also book canoeing and climbing from the on-site staff.
The village of Hawkshead is just 4.3 miles away. Once home to Beatrix Potter and William Wordsworth, this village is historic and picturesque, with its whitewashed 17th century houses, archways and courtyards.
