Dog-friendly Granary Stone House is one of a group of luxury cottages at North Farm in Embleton, Northumberland.

With a shop, pub and beach just a mile from the door, and stylish furnishing and décor throughout, this is the perfect getaway holiday home.

Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome, and there is off-road parking for two cars.

Inside

The interior has been decorated to a high standard and is thoughtfully laid out for a large number of people sharing the space. Guests can enjoy beautiful views from the property over Embleton Bay and Dunstanburgh Castle. With LPG central heating and a wood-burning stove, this property is cosy at any time of year.

The open-plan living area comprises a spacious lounge area with a wood burner, long dining table with plenty of seating and a large kitchen. There is also a snooker table and large television, so plenty of entertainment provided.

The kitchen is well-equipped, with electric oven, gas hob, microwave, American-style fridge freezer, dishwasher, and a washing machine in the utility area.

There are six bedrooms, two of which are on the ground floor, along with a bathroom with shower cubicle. Upstairs there is a very spacious super king-size master bedroom with a sofa and a large ensuite bathroom (with bath and separate shower), a twin bedroom that adjoins the master bedroom, a super king-size double which can be a twin on request, and another twin. There is also a family bathroom on this floor. Bed linen and towels are included in the rent.

Free Wifi is available for guest use.

Outside

There is a front patio with furniture, where you can relax after a day of exploring the area with your dogs. A children’s play area is also available on the cottage complex.

The group of cottages on the farm enjoy use of an indoor swimming pool, which is allocated on a rota system across all properties on the complex, so you can enjoy your own time in the pool with your family and friends.

Location and surrounding area

Embleton Bay is easily accessed via a gently sloping track from the farm. Guests can book the owner’s beach hut for just £25 a day.

The nearby Ship pub has its own micro-brewery and serves delicious food.

It’s a lovely walk from Embleton to Craster, along a grassy path past Dunstanburgh Castle, the largest ruined castle in Northumberland. There are also houses and gardens, and a golf course in the area, so plenty to do and see.
