Cottage Details

Dog-friendly Hazlehead House is a seven-bedroom 18th century property in rolling countryside, on the edge of the Peak District National Park.

Welcoming up to four well-behaved dogs, there is off-road parking for twelve cars.

Inside

The spacious interior is immaculately presented, boasting a blend of modern comforts and original features. With oil central heating, a wood burner and an open fire, guests will be comfortable and warm at any time of year. Fuel, power and a starter pack are included in the rent.

There are two sitting rooms, one with an open fire, the other with a wood burner, so members of large groups can have some peace and quiet. There is a separate dining room that seats up to 12 people.

The large kitchen also has a good-sized table and chairs, and a sofa. It is well-equipped, with an AGA, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.

There are seven bedrooms, all comfortably furnished: a four-poster double with a dressing room and ensuite bathroom with bath and shower over, two king-size doubles, one double, one twin and two family rooms on the second floor with a king-size double (can be a twin on request) and a single bed. Most of the bedrooms have tea and coffee making facilities and televisions. Please note that the second floor can only be accessed through one of the first-floor bedrooms.

There are three bathrooms with bath, shower over, basin and WC, a shower room on the second floor and a cloakroom with basin and WC on the ground floor. Bed linen and towels are included in the rent.

Free WiFi is available for guest use.

Outside

The property has a private, enclosed side and rear lawned garden with patio and furniture, perfect for your dogs and family/friends to relax after a day of exploring the area.

There are also two 6-8 seater hot tubs in gazebos.

Location and surrounding area

There is a restaurant just five minutes’ walk away, and the nearby village of Millhouse Green has a shop, Post Office and pub. Also close by is the old Pennine town of Penistone, with a good selection of pubs, shops and eateries.

The property stands at the halfway point of the Trans Pennine Trail (TPT), a national coast-to-coast route enjoyed by walkers, cyclists and (in parts) horse riders. If you are a horse-lover, you may want to visit Hazlehead Hall Equestrian Centre, on the same estate as the property and just two minutes’ walk away.

This holiday home is perfectly placed for you to discover the beautiful Peak District National Park, with its plentiful walks and cycle trails.
