Dog-friendly Mill Cottage is a Grade II listed cottage in the little hamlet of Garnett Bridge, at the start of the beautiful Longsleddale Valley, four miles from Kendal. The cottage was originally the home of the local miller, and guests will delight in the historic touches of oak beams and flagstone floor.

Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome, and there is off-road parking for four cars.

Inside

The cottage has a real traditional, cosy feel throughout. With electric heating and open fire, it is warm whatever the season. Fuel, power and logs are included in the rent.

The lounge is comfortable, with plenty of seating. Guests can relax and watch television (with Freeview) or a DVD, or enjoy chatting in front of the open fire. The separate dining room leads to a utility area with a washing machine and WC.

The spacious, country-style kitchen is well-equipped, with an AGA stove, electric hob, microwave, fridge freezer and dishwasher.

There are three bedrooms: a double, a twin which can be converted into a double on request, and another twin room. All bedrooms boast wood floors and beamed ceilings. The family bathroom is a good size, with a corner bath with shower over, a basin and WC. Bed linen and towels are included in the rent.

Free WiFi is available for guest use.

Outside

The cottage enjoys a lawned garden with a seating area, furniture and a barbecue. This spot is perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring the area with your dogs.

The cottage was perfect for our pet dogs with the slate floors and access to local walks…

Location and surrounding area

The hamlet of Garnett Bridge is four miles from the market town of Kendal. It is on the edge of the National Park, and perfectly situated for walking and cycling from the cottage doorstep.

Just a short drive away are the twin towns of Windermere and Bowness, offering many pubs, restaurants, shops and outdoor pursuits. The Western Yorkshire Dales are also easily accessible by car, as are the South and North Lakes.
