The dog-friendly Mouse House at Milton Abbas nestles in the beautiful Dorset countryside, not far from the village of Milborne St Andrew.
This small holiday home is wonderfully compact without feeling cramped, and is spotlessly presented. Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome.
Inside
Underfloor gas heating make this property warm and cosy in any season. The immaculate wooden finish to much of the interior – panelling, furniture and cupboards – put a modern spin on a country feel.
The accommodation is studio-style, with a comfy double bed, armchairs and TV. The shower room comprises shower, basin and WC. Bed linen and towels are included in the rent.
The kitchen has the essential equipment, comprising gas hob, microwave and fridge.
Outside
There is an enclosed courtyard area with seating, where you can fully appreciate the stunning views surrounding the property. Enjoy a coffee here, or a glass of wine at the end of a day of exploring the plentiful walks available with the dogs.
Location and surrounding area
The village of Milton Abbas holds a historic country fair every two years which attract thousands of visitors and recreates 18th century life with traditional music, market stall, dancing and more. Depending on whether you’re after a peaceful getaway, or prefer to see this popular festival, time your visit accordingly.
A shop is just two miles away, and a pub three miles. Walking and cycling routes with stunning views are accessible right from the cottage, and the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is very close by.
The area is full of quaint towns and villages, with pubs and shops to discover, and the county town of Dorchester has plenty to offer, including museums, shops, and much more.
If you’d like to spend time by the sea, look no further than the coastline at Weymouth, West Bay and Lyme Regis on the South West Coast Path.
