Thornyfield Cottage is a dog-friendly, Grade II listed semi-detached cottage next to the Winster Valley in the Lake District.

Situated next to the owners’ house, this property welcomes up to two well-behaved dogs and has off-road parking for two cars.

Inside

The interior is well-presented with lovely traditional touches, such as exposed beams and an inglenook fireplace. With gas central heating and wood burner, this cottage is cosy all year round.

The sitting room, with incorporated dining area, is the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring. There is a television with Freeview, a DVD player and a selection of books to enjoy. The stone inglenook fireplace housing the wood burner is a charmingly traditional touch. The fuel for the burner can be purchased locally.

The kitchen has all you need during your stay, including oven, microwave, fridge and washing machine.

There are two bedrooms: one double with exposed beams, and one single. There is also a shower room with shower, basin and WC. Bed linen and towels are included in the rent.

Free WiFi is available for guest use.

Outside

Guests can relax on the rear patio, where furniture, barbecue and hot tub are provided. The perfect place to enjoy a coffee or a glass of wine after a day of exploring with your dogs.

Location and surrounding area

The cottage is in the village of Crook, just four miles from Bowness-on-Windermere. There are a number of popular and renowned pubs nearby, including the Brown Horse Inn, a renovated 1850s coaching inn at Winster.

Leisure passes for Damson Dene Hotel are included in the rent. There you will find an indoor pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and gym.

In Bowness-on-Windermere, there is a wide range of activities. Discover the Beatrix Potter Exhibition, cinema, shops and restaurants, as well as a variety of outdoor pursuits.

Also easy to access from here are Coniston Water, Ambleside, Grasmere and the Lakeland Mountains.
