Bramble Barn is a dog-friendly converted cart shed. A unique place to stay for a relaxing holiday, the old cart bays let in enormous amounts of light as they are now full-height wide glazed doors.
Just a mile from Shaftesbury and with views over woodland, this beautiful property welcomes up to three dogs. There is off-road parking for five cars. Sorry, no smoking.
With central heating and a wood burner, guests will be comfortable at any time of year.
Inside
Thanks to its history as a cart shed, the property is high-ceilinged and spacious, with exposed beams.
The bright, very spacious living area comprises a lounge with plenty of comfortable sofas and a wood burner set into an impressive stone fireplace, and a dining area. This leads into the ample kitchen, also with a table and chairs.
The kitchen offers all essential mod cons: oven, microwave, fridge, freezer and washing machine.
The spacious bedrooms, a double and a twin, are comfortably furnished with a floral theme very much in keeping with the historic building. Bed linen is included in the rent. The shower room has shower, basin and WC. Please bring your own towels.
Outside
The property boasts a lawned garden with a patio in the shape of a half cartwheel, where seating is provided for guests to relax after a busy day of exploring the area with the dogs.
We love the situation of this cottage and the fact that we can let our dog roam in the garden…

Location and surrounding area
Shaftesbury, just a mile from the property, sits on green hills and benefits from panoramic views. Just a short walk away, there are meadows and woodland glades, perfect for walking the dogs. Local sites of interest are the ruins of 11th century Shaftesbury Abbey and Gold Hill, the location for Ridley Scott’s famous Hovis advert.
If you’d like to explore a little further afield, Salisbury is 21 miles away, and Bath is 30 miles away.
