There is a family bathroom upstairs, comprising a bath with shower over, basin and WC, as well as a shower room downstairs. Bed linen and towels are included in the rent.

The cottage is well equipped and the kids loved the games room. There are lots of lovely walks that the dog enjoyed. Our dog also enjoyed the garden while the kids enjoyed the rope swing…

Location and surrounding area

The hamlet of Green Bottom is just a mile from Littledean, an ancient village with many historic buildings and Roman fortifications. In the woodland opposite the cottage can be found the remains of a Bronze Age hill fort.

Enjoy riverside walks, a good range of shops and historic inns in the nearby village of Newnham-on-Severn.

The surrounding Forest of Dean, England’s largest oak forest, offers plenty to keep you occupied, including walking, cycling and horse riding, plus more adventurous activities such as caving, abseiling and a high rope course.

Slightly further afield but easily accessible is a Wye-valley river cruise, hot air balloon ride or trips to Symonds Yat, the Black Mountains, Hereford and Monmouth. Gloucester is just 14 miles away.
