Cottage Details

Inglenook Cottage is an idyllic couple’s retreat. Located in the Cotswold village of Broad Campden, it really is a place for getting away from the hustle and bustle.  Just a short stroll to the village pub, this picture-postcard Grade II listed cottage is a perfect place to escape. Originally the village’s blacksmith’s workshop this lovely cottage retains many of its original features.

One dog is welcome for a small additional charge.

On-street parking is available directly outside the cottage, with a dedicated space 50 yards from the property.

Inside

This beautiful house offers everything you might expect from a 300-year-old property and one of the first things you’ll notice when you arrive is the traditional thatched roof.

From the stone flagged entrance way, you go through to the lounge and dining room area. Here you will find that even more of the building’s history has been preserved. The original inglenook fireplace remains, along with a bread oven and the traditional fireside seat. This cosy fireside is perfect for warming hands or paws on a cold winter’s day!  In contrast to these original features, you will also find a flat screen TV and iPod dock here, and there’s domestic WiFi access too.

Throughout there are low beamed ceilings and bare floorboards, all reminders of the history of the building. The age of this lovely cottage is also reflected in some uneven surfaces, but this adds to its charm and beauty.

To the rear of the ground floor is the scullery kitchen and utility room which are both fully equipped including dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier.

There is a rope handrail leading up the stone staircase to the first floor. Here is located the double bedroom with king size bed, the bathroom and a study. The traditional themes are continued in the bathroom, which has a roll-top bath and also benefits from a shower over the bath.

A travel cot, highchair and stair gate are all available upon request.

Outside

At the rear of the property is a sheltered courtyard garden with patio furniture. It’s fully enclosed so safe for your dog, and the perfect place to relax on a sunny day. Here you’ll also find the log store for keeping the fire stocked up on chillier days.

Location and surrounding area
