Cottage Details

The Granary is a spacious dog-friendly cottage for two guests, incorporating an original stone barn. It nestles at the end of a half-mile private road, offering seclusion and peace.

Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome at a small additional charge and there is off-road parking for two cars. Sorry, no smoking is allowed at the property.

The Stardust Stargazing Hut at the same location is also available to book and sleeps two people.

Inside

The cottage is immaculately presented inside, furnished and decorated to a very high standard. The ground floor kitchen and dining areas are light and airy, with flagstone floors and recessed spotlights in the ceiling. The cottage is comfortable in all seasons, thanks to the underfloor heating on the ground floor.

The kitchen is well-equipped, with electric AGA, microwave, electric oven and hob, washing machine, dishwasher and fridge.

The large sitting room on the first floor commands beautiful south-facing views over the surrounding fields and woodlands.

The double bedroom is situated in the oldest part of the property and enjoys the morning sun. It has an en-suite bathroom, with bath and separate shower.

Free WiFi is available for guest use.

Outside

The property is on a working farm, with llamas, cows and dogs. Please be mindful of the animals when outside with your dogs.

The large quarter-acre garden belonging to the cottage is perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring and is safe for your dogs to run around as it is enclosed by a fence.

Location and surrounding area

The privately owned lake just 100 yards from the property is well-stocked with tench, perch, bleak and other fish. Guests are welcome to fish there by prior arrangement. This is a great spot to enjoy sighting local wildlife, including frogs, newts, dragonflies and kingfishers (if you’re lucky).

Llama walks and activities are also available.

There is a wonderful selection of walks nearby, and the lack of light pollution ensures a fine view of the stars on clear nights.

The local pub is just half a mile away and is one of several excellent pubs in the area, which also include The Yew Tree and The Glass House.

The small traditional town of Newent is three miles away, where you can browse around independent shops.

Slightly further afield but still very close at just eight miles are Ross-on-Wye and Ledbury.
