Cottage Details

Hylton Cottage is set in the medieval village of Lavenham, Suffolk. It’s perfect for a couple’s break, but the owners also welcome babies too. Its village location makes it a great place for those wanting options for eating and shopping close by. You’ll find a range of shopping options in the village including, crafts and produce that have been locally made. Steeped in history, the village really is a great base from which to explore the surrounding areas.

One dog is welcome for a small additional charge. 

On-street parking right outside the cottage is available. 

Inside

As soon as you walk through the front door of this Tudor property, you are welcomed by the cosy atmosphere. A comfortable sofa awaits next to a living flame electric stove and wide screen TV. You will find access to domestic WIFI, Freeview, a DVD player and a digital radio, making this comfy space a great place for relaxation.

To the rear is the shaker-style, modern fitted kitchen that offers you all the amenities you would expect. But this kitchen also boasts a dishwasher, coffee maker and Kitchen Aid food mixer too.

On the ground floor you will also find the beautifully finished bathroom with shower over the bath.

Throughout there are exposed beams, reminding you of the history and age of this delightful cottage.

To the first floor there is one double bedroom with king size bed. There is also a separate WC and washbasin on this floor.

Outside

At the back of the cottage is a dog friendly enclosed garden with two separate seating areas. This is a lovely space for afternoon tea or evening drinks. At the end of the garden is a summer house studio offering shelter so that you can enjoy even more evenings outdoors.

Location and surrounding area

Lavenham is a beautiful medieval village with a rich history and a treasure-trove of listed buildings. The village has its own website which sets out all of the things to see and do, including shopping for anything from gifts, to interiors and local artwork.  You will also find a range of pubs and restaurants in the village, including dog friendly options, so you’ll be spoilt for choice on where to visit.

The National Trust’s Lavenham Guildhall organisers also offer guided walking tours, so there really is plenty to do in the immediate village.

With 200 acres to explore at Nowton Park, walks with the dog are aplenty here. The park is 10 miles from Lavenham, but there are lots of other walks close to the village too.
