Cottage Details

Orchard Cottage is situated in rural Penterry, Monmouthshire. This little cottage offers peace and tranquility in a property that is perfectly made for two people, with babies also welcome. With the Black Mountains as its backdrop, and thanks to its location perched on a hilltop, Orchard Cottage sits in a breathtaking position.

One, small, well-behaved and sociable dog is welcome for a small additional charge. The dog must be happy to socialise with the owner’s dog who is often nearby.

On-site parking is available. It should be noted that the access to the cottage is unsuitable for low cars.

Inside

Orchard Cottage has an open plan arrangement, with sitting, kitchen and dining areas each with their designated space on the ground floor.  With a log burner in the cosy sitting area, a modern well-equipped kitchen, and French doors leading to the secluded patio, there is everything that you will need.  Neutrally decorated, the living space is welcoming and bright.

With oil-fired central heating the cottage will be warm and cosy all year long. There is access to domestic WiFi and the kitchen is complete with a small dishwasher. There is also access to a washing machine and tumble dryer.

To the first floor you will find the bedroom with a 6-foot, super-king sized bed. The bathroom is also located on the first floor, finished to a lovely standard and offering a power shower over the bath.

Outside

Outside there is a paved, unenclosed patio.  There is garden dining furniture and the use of a small Weber charcoal barbecue and fire pit. This is a place for sitting back and reveling in the beauty of the surrounding views after a long day walking in the countryside.

Location and surrounding area

Despite its rural location, Orchard Cottage is around a 10-minute drive from the M4. This means that exploring this beautiful part of Wales is easy.

The lovely town of Chepstow is just 4 miles away and here you’ll find lots of dog friendly pubs and eateries.

Monmouthshire is a great place to visit if you love the outdoors, and you’ll find many things to do that welcome dogs.

The Wye Valley is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are numerous footpaths and bridleways to explore directly around the cottage, and the area is a haven for wildlife.

There are a number of pubs located between 5 and 10 minutes’ drive away from the cottage itself.
