According to Google Trends, a tool that shows how frequently a given search term is entered into Google’s search engine, more people are currently searching for ‘staycations’ in the UK than ever before.
If you have you ever wondered which are the most popular UK destinations that dog owners consider when booking a holiday, we have analysed all the search data from 2019 and produced a simple summary below:
Topping the list is beautiful Cornwall, with its many dog-friendly beaches, coastal walks and plentiful places to visit that happily welcome dogs it’s easy to understand why.
Norfolk offers majestic scenery, wonderful walks & incredible beaches to explore. The perfect place to make special memories to cherish with your dogs.
Ranking third is Devon, a very special county with so much to offer dogs and their owners including beautiful beaches, fossil cliffs, medieval towns and moorland national parks.

Dog owners prefer to stay in dog friendly cottages and hotels over lodges & camping. Increasingly, cottages are welcoming 3 or more dogs and many hotels are offering extra canine luxuries to ensure dogs and their owners feel super comfortable.
While many people still enjoy camping, not surprisingly, the thought of sharing a sleeping bag with a wet dog & sandy paws is not high on the list of accommodation types considered by dog owners.
