Warwickshire has a fair few noteworthy features, most famously the medieval market town of Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare. If exploring places like Shakespeare’s birthplace (a house with enchanting displays and features), Shakespeare’s wife’s home (Anne Hathaway’s Cottage), or even Shakespeare’s resting place at the exquisite Church of the Holy Trinity doesn’t interest you, then this small town is also home to Stratford Butterfly Farm. This tropical, enriching experience takes place within a large greenhouse, with countless butterflies flying freely.

Another key town in Warwickshire is Rugby which, as you might have guessed, is where the sport of rugby is believed to have been invented by William Webb Ellis, a pupil at Rugby School. But it’s also known and loved for its natural beauty and is a great place to walk, hike, swim, cycle and relish in the outdoors.

The Swift Valley Nature Reserve’s grasslands, marshes, trails, wildlife and butterflies keep tourists and locals alike coming back every time. For those partial to birdwatching, Draycote Water in Dunchurch has the bird hide for you – and you may even spot some leaping Rainbow Trout while you’re at it.
