Cottage Details

Dog-friendly Arlington Mill is a truly unique experience. Situated in Bibury, this iconic property dates back to the Domesday Book and guests can enjoy a glimpse of history throughout their stay, as the mill’s original wheels and machinery have been preserved (visually only, they are not functioning).

Set across four floors, this fantastic building offers accommodation for up to thirteen people, and welcomes two well-behaved dogs. There is also ample off-road parking.

Inside

The interior is a stunning combination of historic and modern features. There are two very large living rooms, one is open plan with a dining area and piano. Both include the original mill machinery cleverly integrated into the room layout.

The kitchen is very spacious, with fitted wooden cupboards and all the essential mod cons: a range cooker, large fridge freezer and dishwasher. There is a separate utility area with a washing machine.

There are five bedrooms and five bathrooms spread over four floors, allowing plenty of privacy and space for family and friends.

The master suite on the first floor has a king-size four-poster bed and ensuite bathroom with a roll-top bath and a shower. There are two more king-size double bedrooms, both with ensuite bathrooms. A third bedroom is a family room with double bed, two single beds and an ensuite bathroom. The final room is a twin room, that can be a king-size on request. There is also a shower room on the third floor and a cloakroom on the ground floor. Bed linen and towels are included in the rent.

Outside

The cottage enjoys a rear patio garden, with furniture and barbecue supplied. The mill stream flows right past the property, and families with children and pets are advised extreme caution as the water is deep and fast-flowing through an underwater sluice.

Location and surrounding area

Two pubs serving food are within two minutes’ walk, and Bibury Trout Farm is just across the river. Not only can you easily catch a trout from there, the farm also has a general shop for your everyday essentials.

The village of Bibury is nine miles from Burford and 10 miles from Bourton-on-the-Water. Bibury is the quintessential English village, with a Saxon church at its centre. It has a good selection of shops, pubs and tearooms, perfect for a relaxing wander on a sunny day.
