Underlea is a picture-perfect English country cottage. With thatched roof and beamed ceilings aplenty, the owners have cleverly mixed modern fittings with the traditional structure to create a wonderful cottage perfect for a getaway with friends and family. Located in the village of Hale in Merseyside, you’re just a walk away from a dog friendly pub as well as being close to the Liverpool coastline and North Wales too.

Dogs are welcome.

There is off road parking for four cars.

Inside

Once you have made your way up the impressive driveway, you will be able to admire this beautiful cottage and its gorgeous front garden. Despite the age of the property, as you enter the house you may be surprised to find a bright and spacious house. 

On the ground floor is a generous lounge area, perfect for relaxing with the rest of your guests after a long day exploring the local area. Here you will find a TV with Freeview, plenty of comfortable seating and an electric wood burner-effect fire.

Next to the lounge area is one of Underlea’s bedrooms which offers a king sized bed and an en-suite shower room. There is also a double sofa bed in this room.

Through into the dining area, there is a large table with bench seating, complimented by the addition of a further electric wood burner-effect fire for the cooler months. The dining area also boasts a bar and more comfortable seating for relaxing with a refreshing drink. 

The kitchen has a truly modern feel with an island and stools making this a sociable, as well as practical, space. Offering fitted hob, oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine, you have everything you need for your stay. The property also benefits from a separate utility area and a downstairs cloakroom with toilet and basin.

On the first floor are three further bedrooms. One is arranged with super king sized bed, one with king size and the third with a double bed. The main first floor bedroom also has an en-suite bathroom with luxury fittings and a bath. In addition you will find a main bathroom with bath and walk-in shower on this floor.

There is access to WiFi.

The accommodation comfortably sleeps eight adults and two children.

This property is no smoking and is not suitable for stag and hen parties.

Outside

Underlea is set in its own generous gardens both front and rear. The rear garden is fully enclosed and benefits from a range of sun-loungers and patio furniture. Patio doors open from the dining room on to the garden, perfect for warm summer days. The rear garden has an expansive lawn and with trees, hedges and shrubbery around the perimeter, it’s a lovely private space. 

Location and surrounding area

Underlea is ideally located for a wide range of areas to explore.  The village of Hale itself has two pubs, including the dog-friendly Wellington Hotel and Public House.

The vibrant city of Liverpool is approximately 10 miles away where you will find the Royal Albert Dock and the beautiful architecture of the Liver Building. The north Merseyside coast is around 23 miles away and here you will find attractions such as the National Trust’s dog-friendly Formby Red Squirrel Walk and the evocative Antony Gormley sculptures at Crosby beach.

Underlea is also fantastically placed for access to North Wales, Cheshire and the Peak District.
