Valley View House is a grand Victorian villa located in the Cumbrian town of Dalton in Furness. This large property is the perfect place for get-togethers with friends and family.  Sitting close to the Lake District National park, the area is ideal for sightseeing and relaxation. With the benefit of a town location, you’re also close to dog-friendly pubs and amenities.

Up to six well-behaved dogs are welcome.

Inside

A splendid gravel drive takes you up to the property. Inside it’s beautifully decorated and opulently furnished, with an abundance of spaces for relaxation and entertaining. The grand entrance hall with tiled floor is just a taste of what else awaits you.

On the ground floor, there are a number of zoned areas. These include a library room offering a range of books for you to select, as well as an open coal fire to enjoy as you read when it’s cold outside. There’s a quite snug with double doors leading out on to the terrace at the back of the property. For putting up your feet at the end of a day exploring, there’s also a comfortable sitting room. But you may have to rotate which sitting room you use, because there is also another boasting an open fire, sure to be the option of choice on colder days.

For entertainment, Valley View House offers a wonderful choice. The house has its own games room where you will find both table tennis and pool tables. This fabulous room is light and bright thanks to the large bi-fold doors that lead out on to the property’s courtyard. The games room also has its own bar area with an open gas fire, comfortable seating and a wide range of boardgames to choose from.

You will find open gas fires located in many of the reception rooms.

The large kitchen is well-equipped, including a microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. There is also a gourmet coffee maker for you to make barista style coffee. There is a separate utility area too.

The formal dining area is luxurious and inviting, but you also have the choice of dining in the beautiful orangery which has three sets of double doors leading out on to the terrace. 

There are TVs located throughout the property, including in some of the bedrooms. There is also access to WiFi.

There is a total of ten double bedrooms of various sizes, all offering en-suite facilities. The property benefits from one downstairs bedroom with a super-king sized bed. All of the other bedrooms offer either a super-king, queen-sized four poster, or double bed. Three of the bedrooms offer a Jacuzzi bath. It is also possible for the super-king sized beds to be set up as twins upon request.

Access to two cots and two highchairs is available upon request.

This property is no smoking and cannot accommodate stag or hen parties.

If your party is more than 20, additional accommodation for up to 26 can be available upon request.

Outside

Valley View House is set in its own modest grounds with pretty landscaping and lots of areas to sit and enjoy the outdoors. The property is hedged with greenery and the grounds are private and perfect for enjoying on summers days.

There is a range of garden furniture available for your use, as well as a barbeque.

Please note: care should be taken when bringing your dogs in to the house when conditions are muddy. There are no dog washing facilities available.

Location and surrounding area

Valley View House is conveniently located for the range of pubs and restaurants located in Dalton in Furness. The nearest pub is around 0.2 miles away, and the nearest shop 0.3 miles.

Located so close to the Lake District National Park, there are many walks and acres of beautiful countryside right on your doorstep. Bowness and Ambleside are dog friendly locations, and you can even take your dog on a lake cruise around Windermere!

You’re also ideally placed to explore the Heysham coast line where you will find everything from beautiful scenery to historic ruins and burial plots.
