Location and surrounding area
The Peak District National Park is full of fantastic walking and cycling opportunities, and many historic market towns and villages. Waterhouses is the closest village. It used to be the terminus of the Manifold Valley Light Railway, which is now the Manifold Cycle Track, open for enjoyment by cyclists, walkers and horse-riders. There are a number of shops, pubs and eateries in the village.
Ashbourne and Leek are both just seven miles away, also with a good selection of shops, pubs and cafés in some very attractive buildings.
Slightly further afield but still very accessible is Alton Towers theme park.
