Dog-friendly Barn Cottage at East Hill is a charming romantic retreat for two people, set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire borders.

There are many country walks to enjoy in the area and popular places to visit are within easy reach, such as Stonehenge and Longleat.

Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome (at an additional cost of £20 each), and there is off-road parking for one car. Sorry, no smoking is allowed at the property.

Inside

This converted barn has been expertly renovated yet retains original features such as exposed wooden beams. With electric and central heating, this property is comfortable whatever the weather or season.

The living area is open plan, with lounge, kitchen and dining area below a pitched ceiling and exposed beams. The cosy lounge area has a television and DVD player for your enjoyment.

The kitchen is well-equipped, with an electric oven, microwave and fridge/freezer. A separate utility room in the courtyard contains a washer/dryer.

The tranquil double bedroom has been decorated to a high standard and is next to a smaller room that could be used either to house a cot or as storage. The modern bathroom has a bath with shower over and WC. Bed linen and towels are included in the rent.

Free WiFi is available for guest use.

Outside

There is a shared gravel courtyard with a patio and garden furniture, where you can relax after a day of exploring with your dogs.

Enjoy walks across the owner’s land, with beautiful views across the countryside and, at the right time of year, the stunning bluebell woods in full bloom.

Location and surrounding area

There is a shop and pub just two miles away, and lots of picturesque walking and cycling opportunities in the area.

The attractive towns of Shaftesbury, Mere, Bruton and Wincanton are close by, and lots of country pubs are waiting to be discovered in the surrounding lanes.

You can also explore Stonehenge, Longleat and Stourhead, all within easy reach.
