Cottage Details

The Duck House is located in a quiet location alongside two other cottages in the property owner’s grounds. The cottage is a bungalow and therefore benefits from easy access to all rooms.

Inside

Access to the front door of the cottage is beneath a pergola covered in pretty pink clematis during spring and early summer.  Inside you are greeted with a delightfully bright space offering a sitting room with comfortable sofas and a wood burning stove.  This open plan space also includes a dining area with seating for six, and one of the sofas converts to a double bed for extra sleeping space.

There is a large bathroom with modern finish offering toilet, basin, bath and over-bath shower.

There are two bedrooms, with the main room offering a double bed and the second set up with twin beds.

The kitchen is fully fitted in a modern style and is complete with electric hob, fitted oven and microwave. There is access to a washing machine and tumble dryer in a separate shared laundry area.

The cottage offers a TV with Freeview, DVD player, CD player and radio. There is access to WiFi, and you will also find a selection of games, books and DVDs located in the shared laundry area outside the cottage.

A cot and highchair are available if required.

Duck House is a no smoking property.

Water supply to the cottage is from a natural spring and has been fully tested and filtered.

Outside

Duck House benefits from its own private patio with furniture. Guests also have access to a substantial lawned garden which has picnic tables, a BBQ, children’s swing and football goals. It is perfect for outdoor games and a wonderful place to spend time during the summer months.

Dogs must be kept on a lead whilst in the cottage’s grounds.

Location and surrounding area

Its lovely rural location makes Duck House a wonderful place for a family retreat. But with a shop and pub just two miles away, you’re not far from some wonderful Pembrokeshire towns and villages. Wolfcastle itself is approximately 2 miles away, and here you will find the Wolfe Inn which has a dog-friendly public bar.

This part of Pembrokeshire is perfect for exploring and walking. Scolton Manor is around five miles away where dogs on leads are welcome in the country park. Haverfordwest is around eight miles south of Duck House. This ancient town, dominated by the ruins of its castle, is worth a visit and offers a range of dog-friendly pubs and restaurants too.

Sitting around ten miles from Fishguard, you’re also well placed for visits to the North Wales coast. Here you will find more dog friendly attractions such as Dyffryn Fernant Gardens where well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome.
