Cottage Details
Homekot is a detached cottage located in Coleford Village, Somerset, about 13 miles from Wells, the smallest city in England. This cosy Victorian-era property underwent restoration and still features its original exposed beams.
This ideal family retreat is located in a beautiful countryside area, complete with a country inn, a village shop, and several pubs.
The property is warm and cosy, and allows visitors to bring up to 5 dogs, each charged at £20 per week or part week.
Inside
Upon entering the property, the first place you will come across is the spacious lounge/diner area where you can rest while your dogs or children roam freely.
The room is equipped with a smart TV/DVD and features a wood burner, plus a spacious 6-seat dining table, perfect for family meals. The house still retains its original staircase located behind the fireplace.
From the dining area, an archway leads to an impressive kitchen area equipped with a gas oven and hob, a microwave, fridge, freezer and a dishwasher. And past the kitchen area, there is a utility room with a washer/dryer. From the utility room, you can access the shower room which has a shower and a WC.
Next, you head up a short flight of stairs to the first floor which houses two bedrooms: one being a double bedroom, the other a twin.
The family bathroom upstairs has a bath, a separate shower, and a WC.
Outside
Homekot features a beautifully maintained rear garden which is enclosed and only accessible via the lounge or utility area. There is also a furnished patio area where you can enjoy a meal outside while enjoying the flowers and birdsong. There’s also another patio at the top of the garden if you prefer to sit there.
The enclosed rear garden also features fully functional hot and cold taps installed alongside a tiny doggy bath. This means you can give your furry friends a warm and relaxing evening bath upon returning back after exploring the beautiful surrounding area.
Location and surrounding area
Homekot is located in Somerset, not far from the historic Roman city of Bath. The cottage is within a few minutes’ drive of various foodie pubs such as the ones located in the nearby villages of Mells, Holcombe, and Vobster.
There are miles of beautiful walks straight out the door and a country inn opposite the cottage. There is also several shops in the village.
From the cottage, one can easily access famous tourist destinations such as Cheddar Gorge, Longleat House and Safari Park, Wookey Hole Caves, Chew Valley Lakes, and Glastonbury Tor. These destinations present a great opportunity for you and your canine friends to explore.
