Cherrystone Barn

With accommodation for two adults, Cherrystone Barn is a beautifully restored oak framed barn. Located in Ripe, around 8 miles from the Sussex town of Lewes, it’s also just a short walk from the Village of Ripe and has walking routes right from the front gate.

Three well behaved dogs are welcome for a small additional charge per dog.

On-site parking is available.

Inside

All of the accommodation offered is on one level. Whilst there are stairs to an upper level, this is not available to guests.  The original barn has been beautifully restored, and an annex room has been added to provide a sumptuous bedroom, accessed by a covered linkway.

The main barn itself is accessed through bifold doors at the front of the property. Inside, there is an abundance of light oak beams, some of which are low. The floors are traditionally flagged in stone, and the bespoke country kitchen is also finished in light coloured oak. There’s an inviting dining area, with open plan kitchen and sitting room. Light floods in from the doors and additional windows, and the space is both airy and cozy with a log burning stove for colder days.

The main barn area also offers a shower room with walk in cubicle and wc.

To access the bedroom, you go through a covered walkway of oak and glass. Here you will find 

a super king size bed and sliding doors out on to the garden. The bedroom offers a modern twist with an open plan ensuite bathroom, with a panel separating the spaces. The bathroom has a roll-top bath and separate shower cubicle. 

Cherrystone Barn offers a range of creature comforts including a fitted kitchen with hob, oven, microwave and fridge freezer. There is access to a washing machine, located in an external utility room shared with the property owner. With two televisions offering Freeview and Sky, there is also a DVD player, CD player and radio. WIFI is offered free of charge although the connection is of domestic standard only.

A travel cot, highchair and stair gate are available upon request. 

Outside

Cherrystone Barn is set within its own large, enclosed and private garden, with views out across the farmland.  

There is garden furniture and a barbecue. But the piece de resistance has to be the hand-crafted Scandinavian Wood-fired hot tub (additional charges do apply) which makes for the most wonderfully relaxing break.

Location and surrounding area

Two adult bikes and helmets are available upon request, which is great for exploring the Cuckoo Trail, a 14 mile route perfect for biking or walking.  

Just a short stroll from the cottage you’ll find Ripe Village Stores which has a delicatessen as well as general groceries and a post office.

If you’re wanting to venture further afield, Lewes, including the dog-friendly Pelham Arms is around 8 miles away. For a day out, why not take a visit to Sheffield Park and Gardens with acres of parkland and gardens. It’s around 20 miles away and dogs on short leads are welcome in the grounds. 

The Sussex coast is around a 15 mile drive away and offers a range of dog-friendly areas throughout the year.
