Cottage Details

Located in the Cornish hamlet of Treneague, Owl House is a converted stable sitting in the grounds of a 17th century home. Situated in a lovely, secluded spot surrounded by trees and greenery, it’s ideally placed for a restful break, with easy access to some wonderful beaches, towns and places of interest.  Babies under 12 months old are welcome.

One small, well-behaved dog is also welcome for a small extra charge.

The house benefits from on-site parking.

Inside

Apart from three steps from the cark park to the garden, and then three more up to the front door, everything that you need at Owl House is located on one level. There are some small steps between living areas.

The open plan sitting, dining and kitchen area is beautifully finished. There is a log burning stove to keep you warm on cooler days, and a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need including a dishwasher. You’re sure to find plenty to love about Owl House.

There is a TV with Freeview as well as a DVD and CD player to keep you entertained. Mobile phone connection here is good, and a travel cot and highchair are available on request.

In the sitting area, there’s a window seat from which to sit and watch the wildlife that’s in abundance around the cottage. It’s also a lovely place to sit and read a book or to plan what you’re going to do during your stay.

Tastefully decorated and with solid oak flooring throughout, it really is a lovely home from home. The bedroom, reached via an oak sliding door and a step down, leads off from the kitchen. It has a vaulted ceiling and a sumptuous king size bed.

The house offers a compact separate cloak room, as well as a wet-room with walk-in shower, all finished beautifully.

Outside

Owl House has a fenced garden, with lawns and a private terraced area where you will find garden furniture. The terrace is protected by a dry stone wall and all around there are fig trees and exotic yuccas. Set in pretty lawns and with flowerbeds dotted around, the gardens are a lovely place to relax and enjoy the great outdoors.

Location and surrounding area

Owl House is within walking distance of Wadebridge where you will find a selection of dog friendly pubs. The Camel Trail, which follows a disused railway, is an 18 mile walking/cycling route which is predominantly traffic free. It’s easily accessed from the cottage and is a great place to take a walk with the dog.

This is also a perfect base from which to explore some of Cornwall’s beautiful beaches. With lots of walking options along the Camel Estuary, you’ll find many places for long, leisurely days out with your dog.

The very dog friendly Lost Gardens of Heligan are around 20 miles from Owl House.
