Cottage Details

Hoods is located on Kingsland Farm in the Dorset hamlet of Salwayash, just over 2.5 miles from Bridport. Whilst this cottage was originally an ancient cart shed and later a mid-century milking parlour, it is now the ultimate in sleek and sophisticated holiday accommodation. Only the galvanized steel exterior belies the history of this super-modern cottage.

Up to two well behaved dogs are welcome for a small additional charge.

Parking for up to four cars is available.

Inside

All of the living accommodation is located on one level, offering an open plan sitting, dining and kitchen space at one side. The bedrooms are located on the other side of the house, separated by two steps up to bedroom two, and a further three to the master.

All of the spaces are light and bright, and the modern fixtures and fittings contrast beautifully with the age of the building.  With a utility room and separate cloak room, there are all the additional amenities to help make your stay even more comfortable. With underfloor heating throughout, the property is cosy even on the coldest of days, allowing you to admire the views from the panoramic windows in the living space, no matter what the weather.

The sleek fitted kitchen gives you everything you would want in terms of modern-day convenience, including dishwasher and microwave. There is also a washing machine and tumble dryer.

Boasting three TVs with Freeview, there is enough entertainment for everyone, and domestic WiFi is also available.

The main bathroom has a stunning picture window with views out over the open countryside. It has a bath and separate shower cubicle.

The master bedroom offers a king size bed and en-suite with walk-in shower cubicle. Bedroom two offers a king size bed that can be arranged as two singles upon request.

A highchair and travel cot are available on request. A dog crate for up to a large Labrador sized dog is also available if required. Dogs should not be allowed on the furniture or beds.

Outside

Hoods has a fenced garden along with a large decked patio offering stunning views of the Dorset countryside. You can enjoy the stunning scenery of this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty from the garden without even having to leave the cottage’s grounds.

There’s garden furniture and a fire pit so you can stay outside even longer on those chillier evenings.

With wildlife all around, you’re bound to spot some of the local species including roe deer, badgers and tawny owls.
