Located in the Dorset village of Dewlish, Churn House is a converted barn of real character that dates back to the 18^th century.

With accommodation across the ground floor, this property sleeps up to 8 people and is situated on a working dairy and arable farm. The property also offers access to a shared heated outdoor pool (available between 15 April and 15 October), and a games room with table tennis, pool table and table football.

With lots of walking opportunities from the doorstep, and just a stroll away from the village pub, this is a perfect location for exploring Dorset.

Two well-behaved dogs are welcome.

Inside

With all of its accommodation on the ground floor, Churn House has easy access throughout. Built with flint and stone, the inside is just as pretty as the outside. You will find characterful vaulted and beamed ceilings in every room, and the décor is neutral and fresh, with some rooms having feature walls showing the exposed flintwork and stone of the building.

The sitting room has plenty of comfortable sofas and arm chairs to choose from at the end of a long day. There is also a coal-effect electric fire in this room, perfect for adding to the cosy atmosphere on cold days. A wall-mounted TV is also located in this room, as well as a stereo/CD player.

The kitchen-diner is a lovely room, finished in a farmhouse style, with more of those exposed beams and also featuring wood paneling. The pine dining table has seating for 8 people, and matches the traditional Welsh dresser which enhances the cosy feel of the room. The kitchen itself is well equipped with oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier. There is a TV here too.

The 4 bedrooms are arranged as 2 super king size doubles and 2 doubles. However, the king size beds have zip-link function and can be made into twins on request. The property also benefits from a bathroom with bath and separate shower, basin and toilet. There is also an additional shower room, also with basin and toilet.

Access to WiFi is available.

A travel cot and highchair are available on request.

Outside

In the grounds of the property is the shared, heated outdoor pool (open between 15 April and 15 October). In addition, there is the games room with table tennis, pool table and table football.

Churn House also has its own private patio with furniture. There is access to a shared enclosed courtyard with barbecue.

Location and surrounding area

Churn House is surrounded by beautiful countryside, and the opportunities for walking are all around. The property is just 0.2 miles away from the nearest pub. The Oak at Dewlish is a dog-friendly pub offering a home-cooked, traditional menu.

Explore Dorset’s history with a trip to the one thousand year old Corfe Castle, where dogs on short leads are welcome. There’s a café here too for refreshment after a walk around the stunning surrounding countryside. You and your dog can even pick up a steam train from the Castle courtesy of the Swanage Railway.

If you fancy a little fossil hunting, then the dog-friendly beach at Osmington Mills is around 15.5 miles away.
