Cottage Details

Snowdrop Cottage is a pretty thatched cottage with an enclosed garden set in a beautiful village on the border of Dorset and Somerset.

Refurbished in 2017, this characterful place oozes charm and as it is so spacious inside it can accommodate up to four people and six dogs. (More dogs are allowed by arrangement.)

This dream cottage with lots of dog-walking country nearby and beaches on the doorstep features an enclosed garden and is in a lovely village with a pub and shop just a stroll away.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Inside

Up the steps and through the front door is the cosy and welcoming lounge which has a sofa bed for up to 2 people and dogs, plus a TV and DVD. This makes it a great room to sit and relax in after a day out exploring the charming nearby towns and villages or romping with the dogs on the beaches.

Through an archway from the lounge is the modern and well-equipped kitchen/diner, complete with an electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, microwave as well as a dishwasher and washing machine.

Stairs wind up from the lounge up to a bright, spacious double bedroom overlooking the street. There is a handy shower and WC adjacent to the room.

Outside

There is an enclosed courtyard garden with patio furniture and a small lawn is at the rear of the property. This space is perfect for alfresco dining as it is located right off the kitchen. The only thing is you will not be allowed a BBQ here due to the thatched roof.

There is roadside parking for several cars (subject to availability).

Location and surrounding area

The cottage is situated in Thornford, a beautiful village, which has a pub and a shop.

Surrounded by acres of gently rolling countryside and nearby to beaches on the stunning Jurassic coastline, it truly boasts the best of both worlds here, making it an ideal base for touring the West Country.

Snowdrop Cottage is also within travelling distance to many delightful towns and villages including the market town of Sherborne which offers charming eateries and boutique shops.
Other places worth a mention are Ham Hill. High above the South Somerset Levels, Ham Hill is a nature reserve and country park which offers wonderful views of the Mendip Hills, Exmoor National Park, and beyond. There is also Montacute House and The Haynes Motor Museum that are well worth a visit.
