Cottage Details

The Hayloft is one of three cottages in a lovingly restored historic building, dating from 1862. They can be booked together and sleep ten people in total, or a couple or small family can book just one property.

Up to four well-behaved pets are welcome, and dogs will love to run around in the large paddock shared between the three cottages. The owner can provide a dog sitting service.

Inside

Finish to a high standard throughout, the cottage features original beams and some original flooring. Gas central heating and a wood burner in the sitting room make this an ideal getaway throughout the year.

The kitchen/diner is well-equipped, with oven, microwave and fridge/freezer, and there is a washer/drier in the utility area.

The cosy sitting room with its wood burner, television, DVD player and Playstation, is the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring the area.

The two super king-size bedrooms (one of which can be a twin on request) are comfortable, and are decorated in keeping with the style of the building. The bathroom has a bath and separate shower. Bed linen and towels are included in the rent.

A very pleasant place to stay for a few days, the dog particularly enjoyed the safe paddock to run around in…

Outside

There is a private, enclosed gravelled garden for this cottage, and a lawned garden shared with the other two cottages. A large shared paddock area is perfect for dogs to run around, and it has some dog agility tests that your pet will enjoy.

There is also a hot tub shared between the three cottages.

Location and surrounding area

This property is in the grounds of the owners’ home, in the small village of Saham Hills in the Norforlk countryside. The village is on the edge of the market town of Watton, where there is a weekly market each Wednesday, as well as a good range of shops, pubs and restaurants.

Nearby Swaffham boasts Georgian buildings and a Saturday market, as well as a twice-monthly farmer’s market.

For more adventurous guests, there is the Go Ape high-wire in Thetford Forest.

The cathedral city of Norwich, the Norfolk Broads and the coast are just a short drive away.
