Cottage Details

This dog-friendly ground-floor apartment is within one of eleven stone cottages, set in a charming courtyard, and close to Esthwaite Water in the Lake District.

Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome and there is ample off-road parking available in the shared courtyard.

Inside

The apartment is surprisingly spacious, and very well-presented throughout. With electric storage heaters and a wood burner, it is warm and cosy at any time of year. Fuel and power are included in the rent. There is an honesty box for payment of kindling and logs.

The open-plan living area comprises kitchen, dining area and lounge. The lounge is bright and welcoming, with a wood burner for those chillier evenings.

The kitchen is well-equipped, and there is also a shared laundry area. Equipment available includes: oven, microwave, fridge with freeze box, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer and shared freezer.

The double bedroom has an ensuite shower room with shower, basin and WC. Bed linen and towels are included in the rent.

Outside

There is a large lawned area for your dogs to run around safely. Relax and soak in the view across the valley to the hillsides or stroll along the private path to the water’s edge.

Lovely cottage and great location for the dogs, plenty of space to run about outside…

Sykes Cottages – March 2019

Location and surrounding area

The cottage is in Sawrey, a village that is in fact two hamlets: Near Sawrey and Far Sawrey. Near Sawrey is famous for Hill Top, the home of Beatrix Potter. Far Sawrey is near the ferry point on Lake Windermere. There is also a church and a pub/restaurant with beer garden.

You’ll be spoilt for choice with great walks on offer, including those to Claife Heights and in Grizedale Forest. If you are into water sports, there’s plenty to choose from, as well as fishing on nearby Esthwaite Water.

When you’re ready to explore a little further afield, visit the towns of Keswick and Ulverston with all that they have to offer, or take a trip on the Haverthwaite Steam Railway.
